Brighton Fire Injures One
(Brighton, NY) -- A Brighton man is recovering from smoke inhalation and burns after escaping an apartment fire. Authorities say the fire broke out at about 11:15 Thursday morning at the Eastwood Apartments on East Avenue. Firefighters say the man, in his late 20's, was found lying in a grassy area outside the building. Investigators say the blaze was contained to the living room of a third floor apartment and was put out in about 15 minutes. Authorities say a resident of another apartment saw the smoke and heard the fire alarm and called 911. The cause of the fire remains under investigation. |
