Charges Dropped Against Former Greece Police Sergeant
(Greece, NY) -- An appellate court has thrown out the case against a former Greece police sergeant in connection with the investigation of a fatal car crash. Last year, a state Supreme Court judge dismissed the charges against Brian Ball, and on Wednesday an appellate court dismissed the case. The lower court judge ruled that there was not enough evidence to support the indictment, accusing Ball of fabricating toxicology reports in the fatal 2005 car crash. That accident in Greece killed 18-year-old Stephanie Oliva. The driver was then 17-year-old Chad Kenyon who was charged with several traffic violations. Ball's attorney says there was never any crime in the way the case was investigated. |
