Rochester Man Accused Of Robbing Taxi Driver
(Rochester, NY) -- A Rochester man has pleaded not guilty for allegedly robbing a taxi driver at gunpoint. Prosecutors say 31-year-old Fleming Ashford pulled the weapon on the driver just after midnight early Wednesday morning after getting into the cab on First Street. Police say Ashford made off with about 150-dollars and the keys to the car. He was nabbed after a short foot chase by police. Cops say they found the .25 caliber handgun as well as the keys. Ashford has been charged with robbery, weapons possession and grand larceny. He is slated to return to court on Monday. |
