Amy Winehouse Added To Quincy Jones Tribute Album
British singer Amy Winehouse is the latest star added to a Quincy Jones tribute album. MTV.com reports she's contributing a track to "Q: Soul Bossa Nostra," which now has a release date of November 9th. The track will be a cover of the 1963 Lesley Gore hit, "It's My Party" and will be produced by Mark Ronson. The song was originally produced by Jones. In a statement released Wednesday, Ronson says, quote, "Amy and I are both incredibly honored and excited to be recording this song for Quincy. The regard she holds him in is second to none." Jones released his own statement saying how much he admires Winehouse's voice and knowledge of music. He says, quote, "I am thrilled that [Amy] and Mark wanted to be a part of this album and I absolutely love what they did to make the song their own."
Other artists to be featured on "Q: Soul Bossa Nostra" include Akon, Jennifer Hudson, Jamie Foxx, John Legend, Mary J. Blige, and Wyclef Jean. |
