Jonas Brothers' Tampa Show Canceled Over Flooding
The Jonas Brothers were forced to cancel their Wednesday night show in Tampa due to flooding in the area. TampaBay.com reports that the trio's performance at 1-800-ASK-GARY Amphitheatre was canceled due to the heavy rain that had flooded the venue. Tourmate Demi Lovato posted a photo on Twitter showing how the water had risen to the level of the seat bottoms in the front row of the amphitheatre. Lovato said they had to cancel the show for "safety reasons." She also said she was disappointed at not being able to sing for her fans in Tampa. The show will not be rescheduled. Refunds will be given at point of purchase. An estimated 14-thousand tickets were sold for the show. A small crowd was allowed into the amphitheatre before the the venue's staff stopped admitting people. More than two inches of rain fell between 6:00 and 7:30 p.m., leaving the backstage and seating areas flooded. The Jonas Brothers' father, Kevin Jonas Sr., tried to calm fans' nerves at 7:00 p.m., saying they were trying to deal with the flooding. But it was the band's security guard, Big Rob, who broke the news that the show had been canceled at 8:30 p.m.
