Taylor Swift Set For Sunday's MTV VMAs
Taylor Swift is poised to earn her second career Moonman. The singer country-pop crossover star is among the nominees for this weekend's MTV Video Music Awards. Her hit "Fifteen" is a contender for Best Female Video -- the category she captured at the 2009 VMAs with the clip for "You Belong With Me." With her win Swift became the first country artist to earn an award at MTV's annual event, and rapper Kanye West's unceremonious interruption of her acceptance speech made it the most memorable and controversial moment of the event. The incident -- which even drew a comment from President Obama -- brought Swift even greater mainstream prominence, and West is still expressing his regrets. Just last weekend he extended yet another apology to Swift via Twitter. Swift's "Fifteen" is up against Beyonce and Lady Gaga's "Video Phone" (Extended Remix), Lady Gaga's "Bad Romance," Ke$ha's "Tik Tok," and Katy Perry and Snoop Dogg's "California Gurls." West is also a nominee, for Best Hip-Hop Video, and he's slated to perform at the event. While Swift hasn't been announced as a performer or presenter, she is expected to be in attendance. The 2010 MTV Video Music Awards will take place in Los Angeles on Sunday. The ceremony will begin at 9:00 p.m. Eastern, following the hour-long "2010 VMA Pre Show."
