John Mayer Saddened Over Fan's Death Post-Show
Singer-songwriter John Mayer is sharing his sadness after a fan was killed in a car accident while returning home from his concert Friday night in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He blogs, quote, "My heart and thoughts go out to Micayla's family and her friends. This is just awful. Every night, over the course of two hours I come to care very deeply for every face in the crowd." He adds that he also says a prayer that everyone gets home safely from his shows. Website 4029TV.com reports that 17-year-old Micayla Patterson was killed in downtown Tulsa when the truck she was riding in was struck by another vehicle. The Springdale, Arkansas resident was a senior basketball player at her high school.
Mayer writes, quote, "This won't soon leave my mind, and tonight's show is dedicated to Micayla's memory as well as wishing for a quick recovery for the two other passengers injured. I'm sending love tonight to everyone in Springdale."
