Lazio Leads By 12 in Republican Primary for Governor
(New York, NY) -- Former Congressman Rick Lazio has a 12-point lead over businessman Carl Paladino in the Republican race for Governor. According to a new Quinnipiac University poll Lazio leads 47-35 percent. The primary will be held September 14th. Pollster Maurice Caroll says a whopping 49-percent of voters still say they may change their minds before the primary and that the race is still up for grabs. Sixty-two percent of Paladino's supporters say they will definitely vote for him compared to just 42-percent of Lazio supporters who tell Quinnipiac that they will definitely vote for him. The winner will face off against Democrat Andrew Cuomo in November. |
