Paladino Says He Would Take Firm Stance In Collecting Indian Cigarette Taxes
(Niagara Falls, NY) -- Republican gubernatorial candidate Carl Paladino says he would stand firm in the effort to start collecting taxes on some Indian cigarette sales if he were governor. Speaking at the Niagara USA Chamber breakfast yesterday in Niagara Falls, Paladino says if the law says the taxes should be collected then he says that's what the state should do. The Buffalo businessman says the government should not be afraid of an uprising on the Indian Reservations saying "if one of them stood on top of a police car in my administration, it would be the last time they stood on top of a police car." Paladino says he would also look to block a 50 acre land grant given to the Senecas in downtown Niagara Falls. |
