Beatles' Compilations To Be Reissued Next Month
EMI is giving the world more Fab Four reissues next month. Variety.com reports that this October 19th, the music distributor will turn out remasters of "The Beatles/1962-1966" -- referred to as the "Red" album based on its 1973 packaging -- and "The Beatles/1967-1970" -- known as the "Blue" album, also for its original packaging. The production team behind the English band's successful 2009 reissues will create the remasters. Included in these new versions of "Red" and "Blue" will be photos of the band, new essays by music writer Bill Flanagan, and booklets featuring the releases' original liner notes.
EMI scored a financial success with reissues from The Beatles' vast catalog last year. According to Nielsen SoundScan, the company has reported sales of ten million units of the group's 2009 remasters worldwide. |
