Orleans County Man Sentenced In Car Crash Which Killed Daughter
(Albion, NY) -- An Orleans County man will spend six months in jail in connection with a fatal car crash which killed his eight-year-old daughter. That was the sentence handed to Corey Buzard of Holley on Monday. Authorities say on September 4th of last year, Buzard was drunk and allowed a 17-year-old relative with a learner's permit to drive the car. The teen lost control killing her eight-year-old cousin Abbagail Buzard. Corey Buzard pleaded guilty earlier this year to criminally negligent homicide. The 17-year-old driver from Brockport has also pleaded guilty but to attempted criminally negligent homicide. The victim's mother is pushing for the creation of Abbagail's Law which would make it a crime to supervise a driver while under the influence. |
