D'Angelo To Record "Voodoo" Follow Up With Mark Ronson
R&B singer D'Angelo is heading back into the studio to work on the follow-up to his Grammy-winning record "Voodoo." Producer-musician Mark Ronson tells Billboard.com that he and D'Angelo are, quote, "going into the studio...to work a bit on his record, and I have equal parts intimidation and awe and excitement." D'Angelo released "Voodoo" in 2000, receiving a Grammy for Best R&B Album the following year. Ronson says the singer has been "working nonstop" in order to finish this new record. Mark Ronson is best known for helping to produce Amy Winehouse's "Back To Black" album.
Currently, Ronson is working with Duran Duran for their next album. He's also about to release his own new album, called "Record Collection" on September 28th. D'Angelo sings on the track "Glass Mountain Trust" on that new disc. Ronson says it's his favorite track on the whole record. "Record Collection" will also feature appearances from rapper Ghostface Killah and singer Boy George. |
