"Takers" Just Misses Top Spot At Weekend Box Office
Rapper T.I. and R&B singer Chris Brown just narrowly missed winning the weekend box office. Their new action film "Takers" debuted at number two after pulling in 21-million dollars in its first week. "The Last Exorcism" claimed the top spot with 21-point-three-million dollars. "Takers" -- which also stars Matt Dillon, Paul Walker, and Idris Elba -- revolves around a group of bank robbers who are put to their toughest test when an old acquaintance is released from jail. T.I. was not only hard at work in front of the camera, but also behind the scenes. The emcee was a producer on the film, and recently told MTV News the task was demanding, yet rewarding. He remarked, quote, "I increased my responsibilities and just basically sacrificed my time. Just sacrificed in every way possible whenever necessary." T.I. and Chris Brown's "Takers" is in theaters nationwide. |
