Michael Jackson Documentary Film In The Works
Michael Jackson's biographer is working on a documentary film about him called "Gone Too Soon" that is expected to be released this summer. But it might be a while before U.S. audiences get to see it. According to MTV.com, biographer Ian Halperin is planning to release the film on June 25th in Canada and France only. The date will mark the anniversary of Jackson's death. Halperin's 88-minute film is being pulled together from over 300 hours of footage taken over five years. It comes from the research the author did for his Jackson biography, "Unmasked: The Final Years of Michael Jackson," which was released last year. While much of the footage was gathered during Jackson's most controversial years, Halperin promises his film will be "a balanced tribute to the King Of Pop," adding, quote, "This is the film Michael and his fans deserve."
The Jackson family is aware of the film, but they are not involved in it. The content of the documentary is made of interviews with Jackson's chef, spiritual adviser, hairstylist, manager, attorney, and trainer. |
