Republican Doc Lawmakers Protest Healthcare Reforms
(Washington, DC) -- Republican lawmakers who are also medical doctors are protesting healthcare reform legislation. Final votes on healthcare reform are expected in the House Sunday. In a Capitol news conference, Wyoming Republican Senator John Barrasso said the measure should be scrapped and the process should "start over." Barrasso urged congressional Democrats to embark on a smaller-scale, "step-by-step" approach to healthcare reform. Oklahoma Republican Senator Tom Coburn said the legislation does not address the key "symptom of the disease," which he identified as runaway healthcare costs. |
