Genesee County Man Dies After DWI Arrest
(Bergen, NY) -- The investigation continues into why a Genesee County man died in the back of a patrol car after his arrest for drunk driving. Authorities say 47-year-old Richard Fox was arrested Tuesday night in the driveway of his Bergen home. Police received a 911 call claiming Fox was driving drunk. Investigators say just after 6:30 PM field sobriety tests led officers to believe that was true. But police say while Fox was sitting in the back of the squad car he became unresponsive. Officers began CPR, which was continued by the Volunteer Fire Department's ambulance crew en route to United Memorial Medical Center in Batavia. Fox was pronounced dead just after 7:30 PM. The Genesee County Sheriff and Coroner's office along with the Monroe County Medical Examiner. |
