Paterson's Press Secretary Resigns
(Albany, NY) -- Another member of New York Governor David Paterson's team has resigned amid a slew of allegations against the governor. Press Secretary Marissa Shorenstein tendered her resignation, saying, quote, "due to the circumstances that have led to my unwitting involvement in recent news stories, I can no longer do my job effectively." Shorenstein was one of two state employees who Paterson allegedly asked to contact Sherr-una Booker, the woman who had filed a domestic violence complaint against top Paterson aide David Johnson. Shorenstein has said she was bamboozled by higher ups in the administration into believing the incident was nonviolent, and was asked to draft a statement for Booker claiming as such.
