Gibb Discusses Upcoming Bee Gees Box Set, "Fever" Legacy
Barry and Robin Gibb are talking about a career-retrospective Bee Gees box set. Backstage at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony on Monday, Barry Gibb said fans should look for "Mythology: The 50th Anniversary Collection" this fall. The set includes songs from all four Gibb brothers, including Andy.
"Mythology" was created and produced by the Gibb brothers and will include a booklet with tributes, memories, and other notes from friends on collaborators. Barry and Robin are the surviving Gibb brothers. Maurice Gibb died in January 2003. Andy Gibb passed way in March 1988 at age 30.
In related news, it was on this date in 1978, the Bee Gees hit the number one spot on the charts with the song "Night Fever" from the "Saturday Night Fever" soundtrack. The song stayed at number one for eight weeks. The Bee Gees would go on to be closely associated with songs from the film for the rest of their career. |
