Dierks Bentley Eager To Take His Bluegrass Songs On Tour
Dierks Bentley says he's excited about bringing his bluegrass music to the stage. He's planning to hit the road this spring to give fans a taste of his upcoming album, "Up On The Ridge." The singer has tapped the Travelin' McCourys to serve as his backing band, while singer-songwriter Hayes Carll is on board as the opening act. Bentley says he's a big fan of all his supporting performers, noting, quote, "There aren't any better acoustic musicians in the world than the Travelin' McCourys, period. And I've been a big fan of Hayes for a long time." The Travelin' McCourys are The Del McCoury Band with Del McCoury, featuring mandolin player Ron McCoury, banjo player Rob McCoury, fiddle player Jason Carter, and bassist Alan Bartram. Carll is best known for the CD "Trouble In Mind." He's expected to release the follow up to the 2008 effort later this year.
Bentley's CD "Up On The Ridge" will be hitting stores this summer. He'll launch his "Up On The Ridge" tour in Portland, Oregon on April 21st. Tickets for all shows on the trek go on sale Friday. |
