Bills Coach Says No Frontrunner In QB Contest
(Orchard Park, NY) -- The Bills may have a brewing quarterback contest over the pre-season. New head coach Chan Gailey says as it stands now, the three QB's on the roster would have to fight it out for the starting job. He says it will be open competition between Trent Edwards, Ryan Fitzpatrick and Brian Brohm. Gailey says that is the current plan unless the team scoops up a prominent quarterback in the off-season. General Manager Buddy Nix has previously said he would like to make it work with the three signal callers on the roster. Gailey also refuted rumors that safety Donte Whitner would be traded saying he doesn't know where that idea came from, adding the team wouldn't want to weaken one of its strengths. |
