Ontario County Woman Charged With Breaking Infant Daughter's Leg
(Clifton Springs, NY) -- An Ontario County woman will be in court tonight to answer accusations that she intentionally broke her 13-month-old daughter's leg. Police say 22-year-old Katie Borst of Clifton Springs allegedly injured the girl on March third. Investigators say she waited two days before bringing the girl to F.F. Thompson Hospital in Canandaigua on March fifth. The child was transferred to Strong Memorial Hospital for treatment where hospital staff also questioned additional injuries. The little girl was released after two days. She and Borst's three year old son have been placed in foster care. Investigators say the boy showed no signs of injury. Police will not say how or why Borst allegedly broke the leg as the investigation continues. Borst is being held on five-thousand dollars bail on a felony charge of second-degree assault and a misdemeanor count of endangering the welfare of a child. She will appear in Clifton Springs Village Court tonight. |
