E-Trade Reacts To Lindsay Lohan Lawsuit
E-Trade has 100-million reasons to fire back at Lindsay Lohan and the company is doing just that. Lohan is suing the online trading company for 100-million-dollars, claiming she is the parody target in E-Trade's "milkaholic" Super Bowl ad. E-Trade has released a statement saying Lohan's claims "are without merit" and that they intend to defend themselves "vigorously." According to TMZ.com, E-Trade says the spot was meant merely to be "witty and memorable." The actress believes a line in the commercial about a "milkaholic," boyfriend-stealing baby named Lindsay was about her. Her lawyer, Stephanie Ovadia, says Lohan is known by her first name, just like megastars Madonna and Oprah are. Ovadia says, quote, "This is a subliminal message. Everybody's talking about it and saying it's Lindsay Lohan."
Lohan's lawsuit, filed Monday in Nassau County Supreme Court, asks for 50-million in exemplary damages and 50-million in compensatory damages. She also wants an injunction that would take the commercial off the air and hand over every existing copy to Lohan. |
