Monroe County Executive To Decide On Congressional Run
(Rochester, NY) -- Monroe County Executive Maggie Brooks says she will soon decide whether or not to run for a now vacant Congressional seat in the Southern Tier. Congressman Eric Massa's resignation went into effect yesterday in the 29th District, leaving the door open for a new face on Capitol Hill. Brooks says she will decide "sooner rather than later" on whether she wants to enter the race. The County Executive has spoken with the National Republican Congressional Committee, but it is already backing former Corning Mayor Tom Reed. Brooks says the GOP needs to think of what is best for the party long-term. |
