Portishead, Goldfrapp Members Bring Sounds To A Silent
Portishead's Adrian Utley and Goldfrapp's Will Gregory are taking on an unusual collaboration. The two musicians have teamed up to provide a soundtrack to the 1928 silent film "The Passion Of Joan Of Arc." The movie, complete with the backing soundtrack, debuts in May in England at Bristol's Colston Hall, and there are plans to take the production on the road. Utley tells BBC's 6Music, quote, "We would like to play it places that are not always associated with silent film or film and possibly do it at some festivals. We'd like to introduce it into a world where I'm sure people would really enjoy it." Gregory adds that they researched over 20 films before deciding on the classic. |
