Retailers Prepare for "New York's Great Appliance Swap Out"
(Albany, NY) -- Retailers across New York are expecting an extraordinary demand for energy efficient appliances with the upcoming Great Appliance Swap Out. Starting Friday, residents who replace old appliances with new Energy Star items will receive a rebate from the state. The program provides larger rebates to those who recycle their discarded appliances. The money comes from federal funds out of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act. According to NYSERDA, the state is expected to issue some 170-thousand rebates totaling nearly 17-million dollars during the President's Week event. |
