Poe Plotting Her Return
Poe is on her way back after several years away. The vocalist fell victim in the early part of last decade to a label squabble that left her without a deal and trying to regain control of her recordings. But with all legal matters behind her and a renewed creative spark, the singer plans to re-emerge in 2010. Poe says the change in the music industry in recent years makes it both exciting and scary to jump back in.
Poe, who's perhaps best known for the 1995 hit "Angry Johnny," notes she finds the current music support system liberating, and with more freedom she's come up with more ideas on how to present her music. She notes, quote, "I've created these sort of filmic things that go with the music, and I feel I have a very specific story to tell." The singer recently re-launched her website and says more information and music will be arriving in the coming months. Poe's next CD will be her first album since 2000's "Haunted." |
