Foo Fighters To Perform At White House For Fourth Of July Festivities
The Foo Fighters have been on hiatus since their last tour, but the band will reactivate for a special performance this weekend. "Rolling Stone" reports that the band has been invited to play on the South Lawn at the White House in Washington, D.C. as part of the Fourth Of July festivities this Saturday. The Foo Fighters are no strangers to the political world. The band played a number of voting drives for the Obama campaign last year. Meantime, Foo frontman Dave Grohl is spending some time working with two past collaborators - Led Zeppelin bassist John Paul Jones and Queens Of The Stone Age frontman Josh Homme. The trio has been rumored to be working on music in recent months, and Homme's wife, Brody Dalle, told "Antiquiet" that something is in the works. Grohl had also previously alluded to a potential project with Jones and Homme during a 2005 interview with "MOJO," and Jones alluded to a project with "a couple of other people" that was "more rock-based" during an online post in April.
