Country Music To Get A Showcase At The White House
Country music will be in the spotlight at the White House next month. "The New York Daily News" says the country showcase follows recent White House visits from Nick Cannon, who appeared on the North Lawn to promote "America's Got Talent;" and Wynton Marsalis, who gave a jazz lesson. White House social secretary Desiree Rogers says it's part of the Obama administration's efforts to bridge the gap between the presidency and the public, noting, quote, "The President wants the White House to be a stage. We want Americans feeling they're part of the house." Rogers gave no names regarding which country stars would participate. Country music's day at the White House is scheduled for July 21st.
