Pete Wentz, Perez Hilton Battle Over Michael Jackson's Death
Gossip blogger Perez Hilton is on the defensive after a "Fall Out" with a celebrity rocker. Fall Out Boy's Pete Wentz recently took Hilton to task over his reporting as the story of Michael Jackson's cardiac arrest and death broke last Thursday. Hilton initially dubbed the medical emergency as "dubious" and posted a photo saying, quote, "heart attack or cold feet?" He later posted, quote, "Either he's lying or making himself sick, but we're curious to see if he's able to go on!! Get your money back, ticket holders." After Jackson's passing, Hilton tweeted that he wanted to paparazzi and media to give the Jackson family space. Wentz, however, decided to call out Hilton on his change of heart. The bassist tweeted, quote, "[You] can't make [your] life tearing someone apart, who is a human being, and then flip on a dime and say respect and mourn him. Essentially that's what you do."
Hilton replied that he wasn't recanting and that Jackson was far from a perfect person, to which Wentz responded, quote, "So [you're] saying [you] don't know him as a person but say he was far from a perfect person. That's the disconnect I'm talking about." John Mayer and Ashlee Simpson-Wentz also messaged to back up Pete in making his point, while actor Kevin Spacey entered the conversation to state that fellow actor Jeff Goldblum was alive and well and that the stupid rumors on blogging sites need to stop. Goldblum was rumored to have died on Thursday. |
