Bonnaroo Attendance Down
The seventh annual Bonnaroo festival is done, and the final tallies are showing a drop-off in sales. Billboard.com reports that just over 70-thousand people attended the music weekend in Manchester, Tennessee, down from the sellout point of 80-thousand, but still solid overall. A.C. Entertainment president Ashley Capps says, quote, "Our sales are a little bit off, but not really what a lot of other people seem to be experiencing. We feel very, very, very lucky." Capps marks the drop-off to the saturation of more music festivals in the U.S. The music weekend did provide many highlights, including a three-hour set from Pearl Jam, a return to the stage by Metallica, the appearance of Robert Plant with Alison Krauss, and sets from such high profile acts as Jack Johnson, Death Cab For Cutie, The Raconteurs, and more. |
